I haven't blogged for a bit. I could blame it on the weather - knowing that any day now, the weather will turn from unbelievably perfect to unbearably hot makes us spend any moment we can outside. Or I could blame it on all those important things we've been doing, like making sure this picture happened (see photo above)
Whatever the case, I feel the itch to blog again. So in no particular order, here are 5 things that happened in the past little while:
1: Tyler got baptized! He is a sweet, responsible, happy boy and I feel privileged to watch him grow up and learn new things. We are so proud of him and his decision to be baptized. We also felt extremely blessed to be surrounded by so many people we love - neighbors, family (let's hear it for cousins), friends from near, friends from far (they made the drive from Saudi Arabia), and both Grandpas (one who was here for less time than it took him to FLY here!) Our friends helped with the program, held crying baby #5 who was not at ALL interested in being there, made food, and offered support. I took around 500 pictures - you know, just trying to capture my feelings that day. And they were all (accidentally) deleted. Every. Last. One. By me. I don't even have anyone to blame! Each Grandpa took a picture though, so I've got 2 pictures from the event.
2: Grandpa came for a visit! He was here in Abu Dhabi for a week, then joined us on our spring break travels for 2 weeks. He watched kids while I went to doctor's appointments, took the older kids swimming every day, and (along with the kids) made sure the Cold Stone ice-cream shop around the corner didn't go out of business :)
3: Hailey turned 4! I am of the opinion that just about anyone who meets Hailey falls in love with her. She personifies sweet. Hailey's dream birthday was quite specific - a desert bonfire and pink cupcakes. And she had a list of people she wanted there. So we did just that. Having both grandpas in town made it that much better! People were kind enough to rearrange their Saturday evening plans to be there with her, and she loved it! Once again, all photos were deleted in what I will now refer to as "the great photo wipe out of 2015." Drat.
Hailey loves dressing herself and accessorizing. Princess tiara - check. Adventure backpack - check. Ninja turtle tattoos - double check. |
Modeling one of her birthday dresses (from her AD grandparents which they got for her in Sri Lanka). For reasons unbeknownst to me, "Tyler the photographer" ordered her not to smile. |
4: Colby hit the 6 month mark! This baby doesn't stop smiling. Except for at night, when he's hungry. Not very many smiles then. But I digress - at 21 lbs, this chubby little boy attracts all attention wherever we go. We are pretty lucky to have him around. Rice cereal is his new favorite thing, along with attempting to crawl.
