Munchkin Moment (Owen)

This little recently-turned-1 year old makes every day an adventure in our household! Now that he can walk, nothing is safe. I've already had to try and glue back together one of my Hong Kong souvenirs because I didn't think he could reach it, and he proved me wrong... His little smile and dimples keep him alive :)

Looking for any stray cans of soda mom might have forgotten to hide. He got a taste for it after banging a can of root beer open on the tile floor, then madly sucking at the shooting gyser before I took it away. Not cool.
Bath time!
He is probably the most cheerful waker-upper I have.
Owen is obsessed with airplanes, cats, camels, and ants. Good thing there are lots of those here.

Owen opening a present from Grandma on his birthday. I made the other kids sit far away so he could have a sporting chance.

It didn't last long :)
Good thing he has older siblings to show him how things work!

That night, we did Owen's cake, and had our cute neighbors come over to help us celebrate.

He knew what was coming, and he was ready for it.

The boys, apparently telling him what to wish for after he blows out his candle - that or giving him a pep talk.

In the end, distracted by a b-day kiss from his pal next door, Tyler took care of the candle for him.
"Seriously, are they going to help me open another present again?!"
The cake had the same properties as Dead Sea mud - rub it on your face, hands and legs for rejuvenating skin power, with the added bonus of tasting yummy. Dead Sea mud does not taste yummy.

Shortly after Owen's birthday, Ken left on a trip for about a week. When he got back, Owen was so excited he took his first steps to him. Here he is

Owen is such a thoughtful little guy, he is constantly holding onto my legs to make sure I'm not lonely. Especially while I am cooking dinner. His new hobby is to throw things away in the garbage can when I'm not looking. Unfortunately, I didn't catch on til a few days after it had started. Goodbye cute fridge magnet toy that we've had since forever. It survived three others, but couldn't survive child #4. I shudder to think what else has gone to the dump without us noticing!
