Beach Bums

I love the beach. Good thing, since we live on an island! These first few pictures are from our first trip to the beach, back in mid September. We met up with some some new friends from Tyler's school. Here is Ken, trying to figure out the parking meter, with moral support from Hailey.

It was Owen's first time at the beach. The water (at that time) was basically the same temperature as his bath water, if not warmer, so he had nothing to complain about!
Not only are the kids perfecting their sand castle making skills, but our friends showed us how to swim out to the buoys and find all kinds of sea creatures growing on them, from crabs and starfish to brain looking things and things that squirt salt water in your face. Cool.
Owen even napped for us. What a baby!
The rest of the pictures are from other times we've gone out. Playgroup is held at the beach every week,  and if the kids and I are looking for something low stress to do, we can just drive over and spend a couple hours there. The water is just barely "cold" now, and there are always fish all over the place. Now THIS is what I like my November to look like :)

  1. That looks awesome. We're jealous. And what a contrast to our beach experiences here in Taiwan. Even though it's also an island, no one here swims and your discouraged from going into the ocean past your knees.
