Galavanting with Grandparents!

My parents came to visit with us for almost 2 weeks during Christmas time. It was like having a little piece of heaven on earth! The kids got to spend time playing with them everyday, we saw a few sites, I got some much needed mom time out with my mom while my dad watched the kids, and we ate and ate all the foods that make the Reading girl in me happy: pancakes, scones, hot chocolate, homemade egg nog, ice cream, and home-made Panamanian food. I wish they were back to visit again already.
The kids had Gramps make pancakes for them almost every morning!
Grammy is always good at play dough creations.
Colby hit the 3 month mark! We're guessing he's around 15 lbs.

Colby got to meet Grammy and Gramps. Every day, every nap, Gramps walked him around the house to rock him to sleep.

Grammy's magic bubbles! I remember when she would do these for us when we were kids.
One night we had a bonfire in the desert. We got there just as the sun had set, but were able to sneak a couple pictures in!

Classic tired Colby face :)
We got Grammy on a camel! That was one of the goals of the trip :) On the beach too.

There was plenty of card playing too. Pretty sure I have a picture just like this with my dad and each one of my babies. Let nothing get in the way of the game!

One day we spent in Dubai seeing parts of the old city.

The boys were fascinated with this spice shop, and the owner was really nice, letting them smell everything and telling them what each one was. He also gave them camel milk chocolate to try.

We took a ride on the water taxi. Hailey (and mom) were a little concerned at the lack of life jackets, but we made it just fine :)

Owen was only interested in one of the shops - a toy shop. We pretty much had to drag him out of there.
We finished off the day with the fountain show at the mall next to the Burj Khalifa. There were approximately 1 million people crammed in there, but we still enjoyed the show!

Colby slept in the room with his grandparents, and had fun waking my mom up with his chattering each night. After he'd coo and talk to himself for a while, he'd just go right back to sleep!

We were especially happy that my parents could be here for Colby's blessing, at church. It was a special day.

They had to leave New Years Eve, so here they are for one last group photo before their plane left. Come back soon!!

  1. How amazing to see your parents in these pictures. We miss them. It's fun to see you kids now raising your little ones. Sigh.
